Hours
Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory are open every day of the year.

Winter hours (October - March): 10am - 4pm

Summer hours (April - September): 10am - 6pm

During inclement weather, some animals may be off display and some exhibits or gardens may be closed.

Admission
Como Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory are free, but we do need help from our visitors. We ask that our visitors consider making a voluntary donation of $2 for an adult and $1 for a child to help us care for our plants and animals. We appreciate your support and want you to know that everyone is always welcome whether or not you choose to make a donation. Parking is free.

To get to us by bus, contact Metro Transit at 612-373-333 or visit www.metrotransit.org for current bus routes and schedules.

Entrance
The main entrance for Como Zoo & Marjorie McNeely Conservatory is the Visitor Center. The historic entrance of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory is also open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.

Visitors with limited mobility are encouraged to use the historic entrance of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. If you are visiting Monday - Thursday, please call our Visitor Services Office (651-487-8201) ahead of your visit to arrange to have a Como staff person waiting to admit you at the historic entrance.

Stroller and Wheelchair Rental
Strollers and wheelchairs are available for rent at Garden Safari Gifts . Single-seat strollers and wheelchairs are available for $4 per day. Double-seat strollers are available for $6.50 per day. Some type of collateral, such as a driver license, is required and will be held at Garden Safari Gifts during the rental period. All rentals must be returned to Garden Safari Gifts before the Zoo and Conservatory close.

Locker Rental
Located inside the Visitor Center, coin operated lockers are available
for storage of personal affects for $.75. The lockers are located behind the Vistor Services Desk, near the restrooms.

 

Guest Relations
The Visitors Service Office is located in the Visitor Center. It is open every day of the week from 10am - 6pm (summer hours) and 10am - 4pm (winter hours). The Visitors Service Office provides first aid, public announcements, the reuniting of separated/lost individuals, and a lost and found department. Also available at this office is a wealth of information on Como Park Zoo and Conservatory seasonal shows and special events, and Como Zoo and Conservatory Society memberships and donation programs.   To reach a member of the Visitors Service staff, call 651-487-8201.

Group Visits
Please let us know when you will be visiting us! We strongly encourage all groups (schools, seniors, businesses, etc.) that are coming to the Zoo and Conservatory to call ahead of time to let us know the date, arrival time and size of your group. This information will help us when scheduling staff and volunteers for those busy visitor days throughout the year. Please complete the School and Group Visit Notification Form to let us know about your upcoming group visit.

Group Lunch Spaces Options:

  • Picnic tables are available first come - first serve for the general public in Como Park located across Midway Parkway near the Palm Lot parking lot and Como Town Amusements. Click here for more information on the Como Park picnic area.
  • Picnic shelters in Como Park can be reserved by calling the
    St. Paul Parks and Recreation Parks Permit Office at
    651-632-5111.
  • Any grassy area in public spaces is also available for picnic-style lunches.

Group Lockers: Group lockers are located on the second level of the Visitor Center. Each locker provides space for approximately 50 lunches and 50 coats. Reserve a locker by calling 651-487-8272 or by inquiring at the Visitor Services desk. Cost: $10/locker per day.

Locker spaces are considered a booking and therefore fall under the City of Saint Paul Park and Recreation's standard refund policy.

Park Security
Como Park Zoo and Conservatory buildings, grounds and parking lots are patrolled by Park Security Staff. These staff members assist our visitors in a variety of ways, such as helping to search for "separated individuals" and resolving conflicts or potential conflicts that occur on park property. If you need assistance while you are visiting Como Park Zoo and Conservatory please contact any staff member or go directly to the Visitors Service Office in the Visitor Center and they will locate a Park Security member for you. Remember, never leave valuables in your car! Call 911 in an emergency. If you have an incident you would like to report, call 651-207-0321.
